Hallo, Kia Ora, Hello!
My name is Tessa Jongejans and you might have met me in the last couple of months via video call, phone call, in the consulting room or even in the car park! I’m the new head vet at Moy Vets, currently stationed at the Hambleton clinic, but will eventually work at all 3 clinics.
I am originally from The Netherlands, graduated from Utrecht University in 2009 and decided to go on my big overseas experience to the beautiful New Zealand. Here I worked as a mixed animal vet for 3 years, meeting my partner Jamie, learning all about cricket, beautiful beaches and rugby.
We then moved together to Australia for a ‘short period’ which turned out to be over 7 years. In Australia I worked with small animals only, leading clinical teams and focusing on management and surgery. We decided it was time to come to Europe, as a little family now, with our 3-year-old son Tias in tow. We moved just in time, 2 weeks after we left the region where we lived and worked was clouded over with smoke due to all the bushfires. With all the changes in the last year this seems so long ago now.
We have just moved into Hambleton and are enjoying the proximity to work, beaches and beautiful walks, and we are looking forward to day trips exploring the region and the Lake District! I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends soon! Thanks, Tessa.
