Nursing Staff

Becky Jackson RVN, Head Nurse

Hi I'm Becky and I joined the practice in October 2016 as Head Nurse.  I completed my BSc Nursing Degree and Practice Management in 2011 from Harper Adams University.

I enjoy all aspects of nursing and the variety of cases on a day to day basis.

When I’m not working I enjoy walking my cocker spaniel, Boris, and spending time with friends and family.

Paula Wallis RVN

I first started working at Moy Vets (formerly the Animal Medical Centre) in 1997, straight from leaving school.

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2004, and I am now one of the Qualified Nurses at Moy Vets Thornton.

Since leaving to have two children I now work part time at Moy Vets.

I also own two cats, Stanley and Conway both of which I re-homed from Moy, my eldest cat Conway I got when he was only one day old, as his mother had abandoned him, so I had to hand rear him and bottle feed him!! Needless to say he is a bit spoilt (but only a little bit spoilt haha).

In my spare time I enjoy spending it with my husband and two children, I am also very good friends with Andrea who is also a Qualified Nurse at Moy Vets Thornton and we tend to socialise out of work.

Andrea Sears RVN

I started working at the Moy Vets, Thorton (formerly The Animal Medical Centre) in August 2000.  I worked for a year gaining experience and then went on to do the NVQ Level 2 in animal care which gave me basic knowledge of the job.  After that I continued on to do Level 2 and 3 in vet nursing and qualified in January 2007.  In February 2010 I was made Head Nurse.

I have a Border Terrier called Elmo and a cat called Kevin, who came in here as a stray and I couldn’t resist him!  I find my job very rewarding and can’t think of anything else I’d rather do.

While working at the Animal Medical Centre I have made good friends, especially with one of the nurses Paula who I socialise with a lot.

I started working at Moy Vets in February 2015 voluntarily for 6 months after I had completed my 2 weeks work experience at the age of 14.  I then continued to work as a Saturday girl until August 2016 which is when I got offered a full time job.

I would like to pursue a career as a qualified veterinary nurse as I thoroughly enjoy working with animals.  I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience whilst working here at Moy Vets which helped me to safely deliver 7 beautiful puppies in December 2015 that my dog Hollie had.  I have 2 dogs, one of them being Hollie and the other is Daisy which is one of Hollie’s puppies which we kept.  I also have 2 cats, a Burmese called Oliver and a Bengal called Tigsy.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my dogs and also swimming and going out with my friends.

After more than 25 years working in an office environment, I have taken the decision to follow my dreams and pursue a career working with animals.

I am currently studying my ABC Animal Nursing Assistant (ANA) qualification via Myerscough College and I am enjoying the return to studying whilst developing my new skills and working as part of the Moy nursing team.

In my spare time, as well as studying, I take care of my 4 dogs, 3 English Springer Spaniels and a Border Terrier.
